Jeff Abt lives with his wife in Nacogdoches, Texas where for the last twenty-six years he has been a professional horticulturalist, landscape designer, garden and travel columnist, as well as a speaker and lecturer. Photography insinuated itself into these undertakings by accident but was a natural fit. For his endeavors as a horticulturalist and as a photographer, both require an eye that sees intuitively.

A gardener has an image in his mind’s eye
and creates it with earth and stone, water and plants.
A photographer in a similar way creates images;
but in his case, he captures what is already there
while bringing to the image his own, unique interpretation.
